| Verti-Mix, excellent performance in
practice! |
In the course of product update, Strautmann, on the occasion of the Eurotier trade fair, adapts almost all feeding technology products to constantly changing application conditions in practice. The following innovations will be in the focus of the current sales season:
Verti-Mix:
With immediate effect, all vertical mixers of the Verti-Mix / Verti-Mix Double series will not only be available with a straw blower mounted on the rear of the mixing container, but also with a straw blower mounted on the mixing container front.
This will offer an especially good view of the straw blower thus considerably improving the working process during scattering, compared to the rear-mounted model.
A straw blower mounted in front of the mixing container is available with 2 discharge doors for simultaneous fodder discharge to the right and to the left.
The wish for a front-mounted straw blower resulted from practical experience: where dead-end feeding passages are to be served by this fodder mixing trailer. Therefore, it is also available on all trailers of the aforementioned series of 7.5 - 28m³ in combination with the discharge model via a crossover conveyor in the rear section. Thus, all animals, even those in the farthest stable box, especially in dead-end feeding passages can be provided with both fodder and straw every day. This machine will thus put an end to daily manual feeding and scattering for whatever application.
The straw blower is hydraulically operated, is equipped with an opening for maintenance for the removal of foreign objects and allows spreading distances of up to 14 m, according to the application conditions and the straw consistency.
Verti-Mix SF / Verti-Mix Double SF:
A 186HP John Deere engine (6 cylinders) has been the core of all automotive fodder mixing vehicles of the Strautmann product range for 2 years, which especially excels by its power, as Strautmann attaches particular importance to maximum performance of this machine.
Strautmann uses the engine only at a maximum speed of 1900 r.p.m., which is particularly important for a low diesel consumption. Due to the intelligent control of these machines, the engine speed automatically adapts to the respective application conditions. This has a positive influence on the operating costs as well.
From 2009, all machines will be equipped with a new TIER-III engine. Here, Strautmann is making an important contribution to environmental protection, in particular for one the few agricultural machines used 365 days a year.
Bio-Mix:
Solid matter metering devices for biogas plants are employed by Strautmann in different sizes from 7.5 - 40 m³.
Due to the upcoming modification of the EEG (note of transl.: German Renewable Energies Act), mainly smaller plants will be supported in future, which, apart from slurry and litter manure, will also use coenzymes like maize silage and GPS.
Operational safety and trouble-free functionality are required when metering solid matters.
In the course of time, it has, however, come apparent that corrosion is a particular problem when metering solid matters, which has been almost unkown in farming to this extent.
In the course of comprehensive measurements carried out in cooperation with other partners, Strautmann identified stainless steel as actually the only material that may be used for biogas plant charging systems.
None of the other examined coatings and alloys had a corrosion resistance as good as that of stainless steel.
From now on, all Bio-Mix and Bio-Mix Double charging systems will therefore be equipped with knives made of stainless steel. Of course, these knives will also be mounted in the mixer by means of stainless steel screws.
A stainless steel lining of the container is available at extra cost. This refers to the lower part of the mixer which is in permanent contact with fodder. A lining of the complete container is not requested in practice for reasons of expense.
